Zoar Art Competition
Sponsored by Whitemyer Advertising in conjunction
with the 2014 Zoar Harvest Festival

In keeping our annual tradition, Whitemyer Advertising, Inc. and the Zoar Community Association are pleased to announce the 2014 Zoar Art Contest and Exhibition. Zoar has long been an inspiration for local artists who seek to preserve the village's historical beauty. Their diversified works depicting the last 197 years provide, conceivably, the most creative recordings of the village's rich heritage. It is with great pleasure that we present the following information:

The Zoar Art Contest and Exhibition allows any artists of the high school level and older to create artworks showcasing Zoar Village. Submitted work must be representative of the village, but can be done in any drawing or painting medium. Each creation will be juried for exhibition by the judges sometime after the submission deadline of July 18, 2014. Those selected will be on display during the 2014 Zoar Harvest Festival (August 2-3, 2014) and the judges will give six awards to works in which they find suitable merit. The awards are as follows:

Edna Lueking Memorial Award
$1,000 Best of Show Award for all categories of any medium.
Awarded By: Whitemyer Advertising

Fredrick Gottwald Award for Oil Painting
$500 Gottwald Award for works finished in oil paints.

Ora Koltman Watercolor Award

Artworks selected for the exhibition may, at the artist's discretion, be offered for sale. A 20% commission will be deducted from all sales. Sponsors will have the opportunity to purchase paintings at the established price prior to the public exhibit. The sponsors also assume the right to publish any entry. In every case, all paintings must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit [Aug. 2 3].

Photographs or slides of entries must be submitted with a completed entry form to Whitemyer Advertising by July 2, 2014. If your work is selected for exhibition, you must deliver the physical artwork to Whitemyer Advertising (254 E. 4th St., Zoar, Ohio) by July 18, 2014.
